Hi,

I am using oracle 8i (8.1.7) with forms 5 and reports 3 on a windows 2000 platform. Now I want to migrate from 8i to 10 g. Will the applications in form 5 and reports 3 work or should I have to upgrade the forms and reports as well.

Kindly advise me.

Regards.

Hi to everyone,

I have successfully migrated my database from oracle 8i to 10g. The forms and reports developed in forms 5 and reports 3 are working fine (executables). When I try to compile the form, it just closes without even giving any error. Can some one please advice me as to what I should do to compile the forms 5 with oracle 10g.

Regards

Are you opening the .FMB file in forms or using a command line conversion?

I think (think, but not sure), 10gR1 will open a Forms 5 .FMB file, but 10gR2 will not.

There might be some sort of error file {formname}.err in the directory where the .FMB file resides
