Hi;

I am currently using oracle forms30 on a Unix Platform. The apps version is 7.2.3 and the db version is 7.3.2. I want to move all the .frm and .inp files to a newer location in the same file server. How do I go about stopping the forms and the report servers and re-start them, once the copying is completed ? Thanks

No idea. But the simplest way is to simply reboot the Unix machine.

Was there really an application server for forms version 3? I thought forms 6i was the first supported forms on a thin client.

Now that's a good question, Joy.

I recall that we, once upon a time, relocated some of our Forms 3.0 applications (it was Digital Alpha server under OpenVMS) from one disk to another. I can't remember whether we did anything about forms themselves. One reason might be that they did that and never told me (as I wasn't supposed to know anything about it), or it really wasn't necessary to do anything.

When we had Forms 3.0, on a SCO Unix box, all we did to move the forms was just move them. Out shell scripted unix menus used an environment variable to find the forms. All we did was change that environment variable. It required people to log out in order to see the new location. We were able to move any forms that were not currently open.
